In Paris in the XIXth century, Auguste and Louis Lumière sat a camera upon a tripod and, when the moment was right, they would crank a handle, moving the film through their latest invention: the cinematographer. As the reels of film were rather short, the shots, or Lumière views, didn’t last more than a minute.
Du Corps is a Lumiere views that Cissé was invited to create by France Télévisions and le G.R.E.C. along recognized French movie makers such as Claire Simon, Clément Cogitore, Léa Miszius, to echo and celebrate the first cinematic gestures.
